Being Helpful

Tell someone all the things you can do by yourself. What are some other things you would like to learn to do? What are some things you shouldn’t do by yourself? Why?

Understanding when to be helpful:

• Your Dad is setting the table. What can you do to help?
• Your Mom is in the other room. You want something to eat, but you can’t reach the cookies. Should you call your mother, or try to get the cookies yourself?
• You just finished playing with all your toys, and your family is having company soon. What should you do?

Your baby brother is crying, but your grandmother is in the other room and didn’t hear him. What should you do?
